The George and Dragon in West Haddlesey (click here for directions) is a traditional Yorkshire countryside pub that has been at the centre of village life for over a hundred years, and was recently recognised as Community Pub of the Year in the York Press Pub Awards 2009/2010.

Today, in the safe hands of landlords Paul and Shirley Torkington, the pub offers villagers and visitors alike a warm and welcoming atmosphere, a number of fantastic real ales from local brewers and a great selection of home-cooked pub food.

This site gives visitors details of the pub’s opening times and food service times (food is served every day of the week other than Monday) as well as information on the pub’s wide range of locally brewed ales, its latest food menu, our accommodation, and press coverage.

The George and Dragon is proud to host a large number of weekly and seasonal events, more details of which can be found here, including a popular quiz night which has been held every Tuesday night for more than 19 years, and also plays host to two beer festivals each year, details of which can be found here.
